Laura Marie Koch Holscher, 81 of Lehigh Acres, died April 26, 2009 at her home. She was born in Mt. Vernon, N.Y., on April 12, 1928 and was the daughter of the late William Albert Koch (“Na”) and Theresa Krontilik Koch. She married John Henry Holscher Jr., on June 5, 1948. They were married 41 years before his death, and they had 13 children.

Holscher lived in Ossining, N.Y., until 1978, when she and her husband retired to Lehigh Acres. Holscher worked for Railway Express, Reader’s Digest and Maryknoll Missionaries in the bookkeeping department. She worked (mostly at night) through the birth of her seventh child. She was active in the St. Augustine Elementary School PTA, in Ossining, as well as the Mary Immaculate High School PTA and Drama Club in Ossining.

She enjoyed playing bingo, reading, traveling and spending time with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great-grandchild.

Holscher is survived by six sons and five daughters: Theresa (William) Leonard of St. Inigoes, Md.; John (Barbara) Holscher Ill., of New London, N.C.,; Marion Parker of Sugar Grove, Va.; Dorothy (Carmine) Maugeri, of Port Orange, Fla.,; Virginia (Frederick) Del Lago, of Ellenton, Fla.; William A. Holscher of New England; Charles (Dina) Holscher of Hiwassee, Va.; Edward (Mary Jo) Holscher of Lehigh Acres, Alice (Alan) Gaines, of Ruffin,N.C.,; George (Stacey) Holscher of Chesapeake, Va.,; Donald (Angel) Holscher of Lehigh Acres,; and Rosalind (Lou) Goz of Lehigh Acres.

She is also survived by her brother, William Koch of Croton-on-Hudson N.Y,; sister, Marie Gibbons of Kingston, N.Y.; and brother George (Mary) Koch of Surprise, Ariz. Also surviving are 25 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, and 16 nieces and nephews.

Laura is predeceased by her husband John Henry Holscher Jr. (3/18/90), her father William Albert Koch (5/31/78), her mother Theresa Krontilik Koch (2/10/65), daughter Laura M. Hriskonich (2/25/04), son Robert (Jacqueline) Holscher (4/7/09), grandson Christopher J. Costa (4/23/97), and nieces Teresa Coyne and Patricia Bohrer.

Visitation hours will be Thursday April 30 from 2 to4 and 6 to 8 p.m. with Scripture services at 7 p.m. at Lee Memorial Park Funeral Home, 12777 Sate Rd 82. Memorial contributions may be made to Hope Hospice or Habitat for Humanity.
