Want to go to the Kentucky Derby and not leave Lehigh?

The Lehigh Acres Chamber of commerce and the owners of Majestic Golf Club have an offer for you.

They are holding a Kentucky Derby Party on Saturday, May 2 at the majestic Golf Club on Homestead Rd. And the fun begins at 4 p.m.

There will be a continuous buffet and reverse raffle. For the continuous buffet and Reverse Raffle, tickets are $50 per person. For the Continuous Buffet, the ticket price is $20 per person.

Not only will you be able to watch he Kentucky Derby on a king-size TV screen, you will can participate in continuous races inside the Majestic Golf club.

Jere Carick, manager of Majestic, said there are “toy horses” and a track and we have our own derby and people are shouting and supporting their own horses.

In addition to the great race inside the club, Carick said there is a Best Hat Contest, Mint Juleps will be available at the cash bar and you can watch the 135th Kentucky Derby on big screened TV, just like you’re at Churchill Downs.

You can get tickets today at the Chamber of Commerce, Lehigh Cleaners and Tailor Shop, Coldwell Banker and at Culver Carpet.

Or you might just show up with cash in hand and they’ll let you in.

Proceeds from this event will go to the Lehigh Acres Chamber of commerce.

Carick says you don’t wanT to miss the “horse race” inside the club house.

“I don’t know about waging by the people here, but they get together and they sure enjoy it,” he said.
