Man found dead on Fort Myers Beach identified
A man found dead along the shoreline on Fort Myers Beach early this morning has been identified as Jamie R. Manning, 36, of Jetersville, Virginia.
The death is considered suspicious and an investigation is continuing.
Crime scene technicians collected a number of items from the vicinity this morning, but they will need to be analyzed further to determine if they have any relation to the incident, officials said.
The Lee County Sheriff’s Office began investigating today after deputies were called to 54 Ave. East at 2:42 a.m. in reference to a white male was found lying on the beach.
Deputies and emergency workers attempted CPR but the man could not be revived. He was pronounced dead on scene, said Sgt. Larry King.
Autopsy results are pending.
