Lehigh Fire Board to hold special meeting Wednesday over funding

By Staff | May 5, 2009

The Lehigh Acres Fire and Rescue District is facing a possible dramatic drop in revenue based on preliminary estimates from the Property Appraiser’s Office.

Based on the preliminary estimates, revenue could drop 40 percent or more, said Patrick Comer, the department’s public informtation officer. To discuss the possible impact on the fire district and the possible options, Lehigh Acres Fire and Rescue District commissioners will conduct a special meeting to consider various scenarios, Comer said.

The meeting is open to the public.

The meeting will be Wednesday, May 6 at 1 p.m. at Veterans Park community Center at 55 homestead Rd.
