Questions resignations at fire department
To the Editor,
Recently two assistant fire chiefs with the Lehigh Acres Fire Department resigned, but questions about the resignations remain. Were the resignations ordered by Chief Adams? Or were they given freely or under distress and threats?
Why is Assistant Chief Duncan on administrative leave and was verbally ordered to stay away from the Lehigh Acres Fire Department? Why isn’t Duncan receiving a severance pay but Haugh is?
Why wasn’t all the elected commissioners notified of the resignations. One commissioner did not know until May 7, 2009, but the resignations are dated April 28, 2009.
Is the chief of the department hiding things from certain elected fire commissioners?
What is going on internal at the Lehigh Acres Fire and Rescue District? Do the elected commissioners actually know what is going on inside? Could these internal problems and resignations threaten the lives and safety of the citizens of this community? It’s time to question the status quo.
