Buchanon’s jersey to be retired on May 29
Lehigh Senior High School Center for the Arts will be retiring the football jersey (No. 2) of Phillip Buchanon at the Friday, May 29 spring football game.
The game will begin at 7 p.m. at the Dr. James A. Adams Memorial Field located at Lehigh Senior High School. The ceremony to retire his jersey will be at halftime, said Athletic Director Cyndi Chiorello.
Buchanon is an alumni of Lehigh Senior High School. He was a student from 1995-1999. Upon his graduation from Lehigh Senior High School, he attended the University of Miami.
In 2002, he was chosen in the first round by the Oakland Raiders. In 2005, he was traded to the Houston Texans. The following year he came back to Florida and played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. For the 2009-2010 season he will be a member of the Detroit Lions, Chiorello said.
