Fort Myers police are investigating the death of a man whose body was found near a Dumpster shortly before 1 p.m. today.
The Fort Myers Police Department received a call in reference to a person believed to be dead at 3315 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd, at 12:54 p.m.
The deceased is a known transient and there are no obvious signs of foul play, officials said Monday afternoon. However, FMPD detectives are treating the death as suspicious until the Medical Examiner’s Office completes an autopsy. At this time police are still working to confirm the deceased’s identity.
