Like to sing? Youth, adult chourses to hold auditions

The Southwest Florida Symphony will hold Chorus Auditions for adults and children choruses on Saturday May 30 at First Baptist Church in downtown Fort Myers. Auditions are 10 minutes long. Bring a prepared vocal selection with two copies of sheet music. Adults will also sight sing and scale sing. Children will scale sing and pitch match.

The Southwest Florida Symphony Adult Chorus under the direction of Joseph Caulkins rehearses on Monday evening from 7 to 9:30 p.m. September through April. This fully auditioned premier choral ensemble performs major choral works with the Southwest Florida Symphony for classical concerts, the annual Holiday Pops Concert and their own give concert Stained Glass Series in some of the most beautiful churches in Lee County. The chorus also performs at the Easter Sunrise Service and Community Prayer Breakfast.

The Southwest Florida Symphony Youth Chorus under the direction of Catherine Truesdale rehearses Tuesday evenings from 6 to 7:30 p.m. September through early May. The auditions are open to children ages 9-14. The Youth Chorus performs with the Symphony for Pops Concerts and in the Stained Glass Concert Series. They also perform several times a year in area churches and for community organizations.
