Has opinion on fire department problems

By Staff | May 19, 2009

To The Editor,

Chief Don Adams paints a bleak picture for the fire department, citing money woes – was the headline in The Citizen. The board was told many times to tighten its belt, but to no avail.

Now the scare tactics begin … we may have to close two fire stations … we may have to take ambulances off the road … we may have to lay off 30 firefighters, all scare tactics.

They have a brand new fire truck on order. Where will they park it and who will drive it?

The spending never stopped.

The taxpayers of Lehigh can not take another tax increase. When will the voters put business minded people in control of your tax dollars instead of union controlled firemen. It’s up to the taxpayers to make the changes.

Go the meetings and be heard. It’s up to you.
