By Staff | May 26, 2009

To the Editor,

1. That we do not know where the two million dollars that was collected from back taxes went?

2. That we do not know what they did with the one million dollars plus that came from the sale of fill dirt from the banks of the canals?

3. Is it true that their income is less than $4 million and they are now $1,280,000 million in debt and that they wanted to purchase the sewer system for $100 million and build an office building for $9 million?

4. Is it true that that four old supervisors want to retain their manager that got them in all this debt for three more years?

5. Is it true that four major banks turned down their loan and declared their bond rating as almost non existent?

6. Is it true that the over loaded staff is costing more than $300,000 in extra salaries?

7. That they were advised to purchase the trailer offices instead of renting them for $1,600 per month, thereby paying for them three times over?

8. That the supervisors now do not want to contribute any money at all to the free health insurance plans they have to cover themselves and their entire families?

9. Is is true that union business Manager John Sholte asked Supervisor Michael Welch if lack of tax income forced a reduction in employees pay? Welch said that he would put it to the employees to decide whether to take a general pay cut or eliminate some positions to reduce the cost of employees’ pay.

Mr. Sholte said that is the correct answer. He also has not brought up that question at either of the two meetings he spoke at phew – smell – foul odor – yuck.
