Raymon Castro

Raymon Castro, 74, formerly of Glen Cove, N.Y., and a 13-year resident of Lehigh Acres, died peacefully in his sleep, Tuesday, May 26, 2009 at Hospice House in Cape Coral. Castro was a retired police officer and professional truck driver out of Glen Cove, N.Y., and currently worked for the Lee County school system. He was a lifelong member of the Hicksville Gun Club. Born in Puerto Rico on July 13, 1934, he was the only child of Augustin and Rosa Castro.

He married Carmen D. Sanchez Castro, his wife of 58 years on August 12, 1950, who survives. In addition to his wife, survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Elsie Castro Mackey and William Mackey of Wallkill, N.Y., and Sandra Castro Ardolini and Jack Ardolini, of Port Jefferson, N.Y.; grandchildren, Noel Jusino and his wife Joann, Jason Latsko and his wife Janice, Raymond Castro Jr., Joseph Castro, and Candace Castro. He was predeceased by a son, Raymond Castro; and two grandsons, Carlos and Esteban Roman.

Friends may call at the Anderson-Patterson Cremation & Funeral Service at 2701 Lee Blvd. in Lehigh on May 28 from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. A memorial will be held Friday, May 29, 2009 at 10 a.m.

The family suggested that contributions be made in his name to Hope Hospice, 2430 Diplomat Parkway Cape Coral, 33909.
