Public asked to assist in homicide investigation
Investigators are asking anyone with information in a shooting that left one man dead in Fort Myers Friday night to call.
Deputies with the Lee County Sheriff’s Office responding to 1704 Cypress Drive at 11:23 p.m. in reference to a shooting found an unresponsive Hispanic male laying face down, suffering from a gunshot wound.
Attempts to revive him were unsuccessful and he was pronounced dead a short time later.
The victim’s name is being withheld pending notification of family members.
Investigators with the Lee County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit learned from witnesses that an older model, brown, four-door sedan occupied by multiple black males drove away from the scene immediately after the incident took place.
