Detectives need help in murder case
Lee County Sheriff’s detectives from the Major Crimes Unit are asking the public for help today. They need information that will lead them to the person or persons who are responsible for the death of a man on Friday at 11:23 p.m.
They said deputies responded to 1704 Cypress Drive in Fort Myers after a report of a shooting.
When they arrived, they found an unresponsive Hispanic male laying face down, with a gunshot wound. There were attempts to revive him, but they were unsuccessful and he was pronounced dead a short time later, Sheriff’s officials said.
The victim has been identified as Marco Antonio Guzman-Perez, 24. He lived at the 1704 Cypress Drive, Fort Myers address.
Investigators learned from witnesses that an older model, brown, four-door sedan occupied by several black males drove away from the scene immediately after the incident took place.
If you have any information about this case or know the whereabouts of this vehicle or the individuals occupying it, the Sheriff’s Office is asking you to contact the Lee County Sheriff’s Office at (239) 477-1000, or Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS (8477) and remain anonymous.
