LCEC says there’s another way to pay bill

By Staff | Jun 1, 2009

In response to changing and difficult times, LCEC now offers customers another way to pay that can help them stay current on their electric bills, said Karen Ryan, a spokesman for LCEC.

Customers may opt to pay by MasterCard, Visa or Discover cards or bank debit cards, which are offered through our chosen vendor, Online Resources. Customers who use this option to pay their bill on time can avoid collection-related fees and inconveniences, she said.

Customer Information Services Supervisor Kelly Pilkington says LCEC is pleased to offer this new option.

“LCEC listens closely to customers and strives to provide every possible option to help better serve their needs. One example of this is that customers have requested the ability to pay their electric bills by credit/debit card, and we sought out an affordable means to make this possible,” she said.

Credit or debit card payments can be made through Pay-by-Phone (automated phone system) and PowerPay (www.lcec.net). These two options are secure, easy to use and available 24 hours a day. For security and identity protection purposes, LCEC customer billing systems, customer service representatives and cashiers will not have access to credit or debit card numbers. All previous payment options are still available including AutoPay, U.S. mail, payment centers and drop boxes, Ryan said.
