Cape team takes first in shark challenge
Team Tim’s Tree Service of Cape Coral captured first place and the largest shark award at the 2009 Are You Man Enough shark challenge this past weekend off Fort Myers Beach.
The winning team caught and released a 7-1/2 feet greater hammerhead shark to take top honors in the field with 150 points. It won $4,041 for most points on the catch-and release format, an additional $1,000 for the largest shark of the night and $300 extra for being a Sea-Tow member.
It was Team Tim’s Tree Service first victory in the third annual tournament. The team has entered all three years.
Second place went to Team Fishmaster Shark, which picked up $2,000 for their efforts.
No angler hooked on to any of the five tagged sharks which would have netted them a $10,000 bonus prize.
