Firecats earn road win

After a rough start to the season, the arenafootball2’s Florida Firecats are picking up their play.

The Firecats won their second straight game Saturday night with a 63-52 win over the host Central Valley Coyotes.

The Firecats had three important defensive stops and scored touchdowns on their first nine possessions.

Quarterback Chris Wallace tossed five touchdown passes and rushed for another score. Fullback Brandon Isaiah rushed for two touchdowns in his first game with the Firecats (5-6).

Defensive back James McCoy returned a kick for a touchdown and nearly returned and interception for a score, but was stopped three yards short. Kicker Mike Adams went 7-for-9 on extra points.

The Firecats were led in receiving by Chris McKinney. He caught 11 passes for 122 yards and three scores. He has 27 touchdowns this season.

The Firecats play on the road Saturday at Tennessee Valley (8-3).
