The Lee County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in locating Brandon Cecil Murph, 22, (DOB 6/5/87) for committing the crime of armed robbery.

On Tuesday, June 2, at approximately 11:26 a.m., deputies with the Lee County Sheriff’s Office responded to the Wal-Mart, located at 14821 Six Mile Cypress Parkway, Fort Myers, in reference to an armed robbery.

Upon arrival, deputies met with a 34-year-old female, later identified as the victim. She informed deputies that while sitting in her vehicle and parked in the Wal-Mart parking lot, she was approached by a black male. The man reached into her car and grabbed her purse, investigators said.

The victim attempted to hold onto her purse, but the male suspect then brandished a firearm and pointed it at the victim. The victim released the purse as the male suspect left the scene in a dark blue two-door Cadillac with a dark blue vinyl top.

Due to the nature of the offense, detectives with the Lee County Sheriff’s Office Robbery Unit assumed the investigation. The following morning, Wednesday, June 3, investigators were made aware of the suspect vehicle’s location. Detectives arrived at that location but did not locate the robbery suspect. However, subsequent investigation revealed information that allowed detectives to identify Brandon Cecil Murph as the person responsible for the armed robbery committed at the Wal-Mart on June 2, according to a Sheriff’s report.

Due to the violent nature of Murph’s offense, he is considered armed and dangerous. He is described as a black male, 5 feet, 10 inchess tall, 160 pounds with brown eyes and black hair. His last know address is 4131 Woodside Avenue, Fort Myers.

Anyone with information on Brandon Cecil Murph’s whereabouts is asked to contact the Lee County Sheriff’s Office at (239) 477-1000, or to remain anonymous and be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000, call Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS.
