FGUA seeks Utility Advisory Committee members

The Florida Governmental Utility Authority (FGUA) is actively seeking nominations applications to fill three member positions on the Utility Advisory Committee (UAC) for the FGUA’s, In Lehigh Acres utility system.

The position is a volunteer role and will be filled by appointment by the board of the FGUA. Appointment to the UAC shall be made on the basis of experience or interest within the subject matter of the UAC jurisdiction. Prospective board members must complete an Appointed Board and Committee Application by July 2, 2009.

Members shall reside or own a business within the FGUA’s Lehigh Acres, FL FGUA Utility Service Area and shall serve a three (3) year term:

The UAC is empowered and directed to consider and study:

Customer service issues

Major development projects

Capital improvement plans

Environmental issues

Operational issues

Other subject matter associated with the activities of the FGUA in Lehigh Acres

Matters submitted by the FGUA

The UAC shall offer suggestions and recommendations on its own initiative. The UAC shall also receive petitions and suggestions from citizens and shall cooperate with citizen groups, civic clubs, governmental agencies and other organizations. The UAC has an:

– Appointed Chairman and Vice-Chairman

– Holds regular bi-monthly meetings

– Holds special meetings when necessary
