Blades sign OHL standout
The high-flying Beljo played for three teams in the OHL – the Peterborough Petes, Mississauga IceDogs and London Knights.
Over the past two seasons, the 6-foot, 175-pound Beljo has recorded 69 goals and 141 points in just 116 games.
“We were close to signing Jadran in February but he was rehabbing from an injury and we thought it would be better to let him fully recover,” said Everblades coach Malcolm Cameron.
The 22-year-old left winger injured his shoulder in the Toronto Maple Leafs rookie camp, had surgery on Halloween and has been rehabbing ever since.
Fan favorite and team veteran Ernie Hartlieb was the first player to agree to terms for next season, followed last week by defenseman Brad Zanon.
