TV99 Online provides live streaming and videos on demand

By Staff | Jul 15, 2009

Earlier this year, the Lee County School District’s cable channel was moved up the dial to Comcast Cable Channel 99. The District’s TV Channel features educational programming as well as televising meetings of the Lee County School Board.

The District now announces that online access to the channel is now available TV99 Online is just a click away. You can launch the TV station from your computer by simply visiting the District’s Web site (www.leeschools.net) and clicking on the link to the TV Studio found on the main page.

For visitors using Internet Explorer, when they enter the online studio the current broadcast on Comcast Channel 99 will begin to play in the screen what you see is what is going out live to viewers on Comcast Cable. In addition, there are links to Videos on Demand that are currently available with more to come in the near future.

The idea is to provide access to the District’s Cable Channel to those who don’t have a TV readily available, particularly for those community members who cannot attend a school board meeting and cannot access the Comcast Cable broadcast. They can now simply visit the District’s Web site, click on the appropriate TV99 Online link and watch the meetings in real time.

There are some technical requirements when accessing the online TV Studio. First, the online studio is best accessed using Internet Explorer (IE) as a Web browser. In addition, you must have Window Media Player installed on your computer. For those visitors who use Firefox or another Internet browser or who use a Macintosh computer (iMac, etc.,) links are provided where they can download the applicable plug-ins for their computer so they can view TV99 Online.
