The Lee County Sheriff’s Offrice reported Wednesday that a second grade teacher at Tropic Isles Elementary School in North Fort Myers has been charged with sexual battery and lewd and lascivious molestation against two of his own students. David McNabb, 52, was arrested at approximately 8:30 p.m. on July 15, following an investigation by the Lee County Sheriff’s Office Sex Crimes Unit.

Investigators said two girls under the age of 12 told them that McNabb reached under their desks on several occasions during class and touched them inappropriately. The investigation began after both students told their parents similar accounts of what was happening in David McNabb’s classroom. McNabb was questioned by investigators and subsequently arrested. Authorities said the investigation is contuing.
