The Red Cross is assisting a Lehigh Acres family after their home caught fire Wednesday, according to Patrick comer, the fire department’s public information officer. He said the fire started about 11:58 a.m. at 3508 15th St. SW. A mother and one child were at home at the time the fire started in a bedroom.

“The house sustained approximately $75,000 in damage,” said Lehigh Acres Fire Marshal Ken Bennett.

No injuries were reported and Bennett says the cause of the investigation remains under investigation by the State Fire Marshal’s Office.
