Seminole Gulf Railroad rehabilitation to cause lane closings
Seminole Gulf Railroad will be performing major rehabilitation of railway crossing on Alico Road beginning the morning of Monday, August 3, 2009, according to David M. Loveland, manager, Transportation Planning for Lee County Dept. of Transportation.
The roadway will be reduced to one lane in each direction for approximately four weeks approaching the railroad crossing. The anticipated completion date is Monday, August 31, Loveland said.
Motorists traveling between I-75 and US 41 are advised to avoid this area and seek alternative routes during the construction period, as the reduced roadway lanes will produce traffic congestion and longer than expected travel times, Loveland said.
