Miracle Notch 6-1 Win Friday night
Michael Tarsi went five innings and the Fort Myers Miracle offense provided the support in a 6-1 victory over the host Clearwater Threshers Friday night at Bright House Field.
Tarsi (3-1) gave up one unearned run on four hits, with two walks and two strikeouts. Matt Williams and Henry Arias worked two scoreless innings each, with Williams fanning two and Arias one.
Jon Velasquez (1-4) took the loss. He gave up three earned runs on five hits in 5 2/3 innings.
Rene Leveret sparked the Miracle attack. He went 2-for-5 with an RBI double.
Chris Parmelee and Estarlin de los Santos also contributed two hits each.
Parmelee, Joe Benson, de los Santos, and Allan de San Miguel chipped in with RBI.
Fort Myers (17-18 second half, 60-44 overall) bounced back from a 2-0 loss Thursday night. The Miracle scored two in the first and never trailed.
They added two more runs in the eighth on two bases-loaded walks. They scored one run in the third and ninth innings, respectively.
Game three of the series starts at 6:30 p.m. tonight, Saturday.
