Attended rally over insurance care in Florida

By Staff | Aug 3, 2009

To the Editor,

On Thursday, July 23, the Obama For America held a rally at U.S. Sen. Bill Nelson’s local office in downtown Fort Myers.

The event had between 45 to 50 people in attendance and featured speakers without any health care, some who were under insured or denied payments by their insurance companies.

A retired military pediatrician spoke of his experiences in both military and private practice.

He described the military practice that treat everyone in medical need. While the private practice does not treat everyone at all. he also has worked in areas more efficient in cost containment.

This organization presented these operational suggestions to top insurance companies who were simple unresponsive.

Everything in Florida, suggests we cannot wait for another opportunity to help our fellow citizens.,

Florida’s uninsured are growing at the rate of approximately 3,560 per week from 2008 to 2010, according to the Miami Herald on July 16.

The haves and the havenots should find solutions that will help all their fellow citizens.
