The Edison & Ford Winter Estates in Fort Myers will offer significant discounts to Florida residents and seniors during August.

Florida residents (adults and children) will receive $5 off an Estates tour ticket, said Estates spokeswoman Lisa Sbuttoni. She said seniors (ages 55 and over) will receive a 50 percent discount on an Estates tour ticket between 9 and 10 a.m.

Included in an Estates tour ticket is a tour of the winter homes of Thomas Edison and Henry Ford, the Estates gardens, Edison’s Botanic Research Lab and the Estates Museum. Visitors to the Estates can enjoy a guided tour at 11 a.m., 1 p.m. or 3 p.m., or a self guided audio tour.

The Estates summer discount program is not valid with any other coupon or discount program. Florida residents must provide proof of residency, Sbuttoni said.

The Estates is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The Estates was awarded the 2009 National Trust for Historic Preservation Award and is an official project of “Save America’s Treasures” at the National Trust for Historic Preservation, a Florida Historic Landmark and a National Register Historic Site.
