Miracle notch another win over Threshers
The Fort Myers Miracle won their third straight game Sunday and completed a series victory over the host Clearwater Threshers.
Rene Leveret belted a home run and Tyler Robertson threw five innings, leading the Miracle to a 5-2 win.
The Miracle defeated the Threshers in six of eight meetings this season.
Leveret’s fifth home run of the season came in the sixth off Walter Tejeda. The solo shot put the Miracle ahead 3-1. Deibinson Romero came through with a two-run single in the seventh to extend the lead.
Leveret finished 2-for-3, while Jair Fernandez and Chris Cates each went 2-for-4 at the plate.
Centerfielder Ben Revere returned to the lineup for the Miracle. He missed 12 games with swelling in his left knee.
Robertson (6-7) went five innings and allowed four hits and one earned run.
Dakota Watts, Matt Williams, Henry Arias, and Loek van Mil all pitched one inning. Van Mil recorded his fifth save of the season.
Fort Myers hosts Charlotte at Hammond Stadium atr 7:05 p.m. Tuesday.
