Bodies found buried behind home
The Lee County Sheriff’s Office today said that on Tuesday, August 4, at around 11:44 a.m., deputies responded to a home located at 7321 Pebble Beach Road, Fort Myers, in reference to a missing person. During the course of the investigation, a suspicious area was located in the backyard of the home. The area was revealed to be a burial site containing two bodies, according to John Sheehan, a public infomration officer with the Sheriff’s Office. Further investigation determined the causes of death were not natural, he said.
Homicide detectives with the Major Crimes Unit assumed the investigation. Crime scene technicians responded to the scene to collect and document evidence. The District 21 Medical Examiner will conduct an autopsy to determine the identification of both individuals and causes of death.
