Thursday’s special fire board meeting starts at 4 p.m. at Lehigh library
A special meeting to discuss the budget of the Lehigh Acres Fire and Rescue District will be held at 4 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 6 at the East County Regional Library. It had been published earlier that the meeting would be at 6 p.m.
The hearing is scheduled to last to 8 p.m. of necessary, according to officials at the Lehigh Acres Fire Dept.
Prior special meetings have been held at the East Lee County High School, but it was not available for Thursday’s meeting.
The next special meeting will be Aug. 18 at 6 p.m. And after that, the next meeting, if needed, will be Aug. 27 at 4 p.m. Fire commissioners can vote at special meetings, but not budget workshops, officials said.
The next regular monthly “business meeting” of the fire board will be on Aug. 19 at 4 p.m. and will be held at the usual site, the meeting room at Veterans Park on Hometead Rd.
Other hearings will be held Sept. 9 at 5:01 p.m. and on Sept. 24 at 5:01 p.m. when the final budget must be struck. They will be held at the East County Regional Library on Gunnery Rd.
