Monday night and early today, the Fort Myers Fire Department welcomed back Frank Jonas, a German firefighter visiting Florida with his wife on vacation. Jonas has participated in 24 hour “ride-alongs” with Fort Myers firefighters for the past five years, each time he visits the area.

He works full time with the city of Berlin Fire Department as a HazMat Battalion Chief and has been with that department for 28 years.

The Fort Myers Fire Department is always glad to have him and many of the firefighters have developed a friendship with Firefighter Jonas over the years.

Jonas rode with the crew out of Fire Station located off Palm Beach Boulevard at 1035 Terry Street.
