Hot air balloon ride set for Saturday
Have you ever wanted to take a ride in one of those hot air balloons? Well, now’s your chance! The RE/MAX Realty Group of Fort Myers will tether their balloon at the Southeast corner of Summerlin and Cypress Lake Drive in South Fort Myers on Saturday, August 22, from 7to 11 a.m.
Five cans of nonperishable food to be donated to the Harry Chapin Food Bank or $5 will provide a ride in the balloon while it is tethered. Of course, this is all “wind and weather permitting.” Individuals must be at least 18 years of age to sign the waiver; children can ride with an adult.
For those who don’t want to actually take a ride in the balloon, it is always interesting to see the tethered balloon and how it functions, promoters said. Additional information about the REMAX balloon rides may be obtained by contacting Connie Addison at 239-357-6936.
The Harry Chapin Food Bank solicits, collects and stores quality food for distribution to needy people through a network of nearly 150 local nonprofit agencies, providing food to non-profit agencies that serve 20,000 people monthly.
