Southwest Florida International Airport reports July Traffic
During July, 492,063 passengers traveled through Southwest Florida International Airport, a decrease of 2.1 percent compared to July 2008. Year-to-date, passenger traffic is down 3.6 percent over the same period last year.
The traffic leader in July was Southwest with 72,936 passengers traveling to and from Fort Myers. Rounding out the top five airlines were Delta (72,599), AirTran (65,572), JetBlue (57,000) and US Airways (53,212).
Southwest Florida International Airport had 5,468 aircraft movements (takeoffs and landings), a decrease of 7.8 percent compared to July 2008. Page Field General Aviation Airport saw 5,952 movements, a 7 percent increase from July 2008. In addition, more than 2.5 million pounds of air freight moved through Southwest Florida International Airport in July 2009.
