Man is arrested in Bonita Springs homicide
An alcohol-fueled argument has left one man dead and another charged with murder.
Lee County Sheriff’s deputies were called at 27311 Felts Avenue, Bonita Springs, at approximately 12:15 p.m. on August 29. Upon arrival, they found a man laying in the back yard with a serious stab wound to the abdomen. The man was airlifted to the hospital and died a short time later, Sheriff’s officials said.
Witnesses reported that the victim and Antonio Arredondo had been drinking alcohol most of the morning when they began arguing loudly. Arredondo is accussed of stabbing the victim and then running into a wooded area a few blocks away. The Lee County Sheriff’s Office Aviation and K-9 Units were called in to assist in the search. Arredondo was located in the woods and arrested within an hour.
The victim’s name is not being released at this time pending notification of next of kin.
Arredondo, 67, uses many aliases including Antonio Pacheco, officials said. He has been charged with second degree murder.
