Police: 3 charged for DUI incidents

By Staff | Sep 4, 2009

Three people were charged this week in unrelated DUI crashes, according to Cape Coral police.
Louis Trasetti, 22, was charged Wednesday with DUI manslaughter in the June 18 death of Martin Gasber, 41. He has also been charged with two counts each of DUI with property damage and DUI alcohol or drugs.
According to city spokesperson Connie Barron, Gasber was riding his bicycle when Trasetti struck and killed him from behind on eastbound Pine Island Road.
Trasetti had Alprazolam, Oxycodone and Methadone in his blood at the time of the crash, according to a police report.
Patrina Gordon, 18, was charged Friday with DUI and DUI with serious bodily injury in a Feb. 4 crash at the intersection of Pine Island Road and Santa Barbara Boulevard.
Two of Gordon’s passengers suffered a fractured pelvis and broken back when Gordon crossed into the path of a northbound vehicle on Santa Barbara Boulevard and caused the other driver to strike her, Barron said.
Police reportedly discovered marijuana and Xanax in Gordon’s bloodstream.
On Monday, 21-year-old Sean Frazee was issued a criminal citation for allowing an unauthorized person to drive his motorcycle.
Police said Frazee allowed Nicholas Trunck, who was impaired by marijuana and did not have a motorcycle endorsement, to drive his motorcycle in the alley behind Hustler’s Pool Hall.
Trunck struck a utility pole and died as a result of his injuries.
Five traffic fatalities have occurred in the Cape this year, each of which may have been contributed to by drugs or alcohol, Barron said.
