Teams have already begun singing up for the 2010 Relay for Life of Lehigh Acres.

On August 17, there was an Early Bird Registration Party at the Microtel Inn & Suites.

Approximately 13 teams attended and signed up. They included Colonial Bank (Now BB&T), Max’d Out Fitness Center, Suncoast Schools Federal Credit Union, Spa Perfect, Golden Girls, Healthcare Hotties, Lehigh Chamber, NAC Jr. Youth, Community Council of Lehigh Acres, Team Sunshine and the Pink Warriors.

Relay for Life is the premiere fundraiser for the American Cancer Society. The 2010 Lehigh acres event will be held April 17 and April 18 at the Lehigh Senior High School. No running is required. This is a team walking event, promoters said.

Last year the Lehigh Acres Relay for Life raised approximately $37,000 to be used in the fight against cancer.

There will be children’s games and activities, lot of food, plenty of entertainment and a very moving luminary ceremony to recognize those who have fought the battle against cancer.
