It took a couple of weeks, but the Mariner Tritons finally earned their first volleyball victory of the season with a 25-15, 25-17, 25-15 decision on their home floor over Island Coast Wednesday night.

“We had a good service game ( 22 total aces) and our offense was clicking tonight,” said Tritons coach Tom Faasse. “We got a lot of kills. We attacked the ball real well and served real well.”

Samantha Greenwell led the Tritons with eight kills, three service aces and handed out 21 assists. Jenny Betts pitched in with seven kills and three blocks.

The Tritons (1-3) visit North Fort Myers and the Gators (1-4) host Gateway Charter Thursday.

At River Hall Country Club: Ryan Gallick and Michael Faulkner gladly shared medalist honors with nine-hole rounds of 41 to lead Ida Baker (170) to a 21-stroke victory over host Riverdale (191), LaBelle (205) and Lehigh (229).

Dylan Fine added a 42 for the Bulldogs while Cody Byers and Miko Daugherty contributed identical 46s.

The Bulldogs (5-0) host North Fort Myers and Lehigh Thursday at Palmetto Pine Country Club.

Anthony Myers led the Seahawks with 39. Jordan Carr topped Island Coast with 50.
