John K. Korsah

John K. Korsah, 69, formerly of Lehigh Acres, died on Monday, September 7, 2009 at Fairfax Hospital in Virginia following a battle with cancer.

He was the husband of Eunice Korsah; he is survived by his two sons John Jr. and Jonathan Felix; his daughter Liza; five grandchildren, Tyler, Alec, Dylan, Sinclaire and Taylor.

He was born in Ghana , West Africa, on August 8, 1940. He emigrated to England in his early 20s after receiving his teaching credentials. In London he received advanced degrees in accounting and economics and several high commendations. He then immigrated to the United States where he was awarded a bachelor of science degree in business administration and certifications in accounting and finance.

After living in the Northern Virginia, he moved to Lehigh Acres, where he lived for for 20 years. He was an active member of the Methodist Church, a devoted community volunteer, and an avid soccer fan.

He retired and moved with his wife to Northern Virginia five years ago to help care for his grandchildren.
