To The Editor:

I believe that Karen Hawes will be a great county manager. She has worked for the county for 16 years. She know the system. She knows the people. She is a leader. She loves Southwest Florida and

will lead the county in a good direction.

I worked with Karen when I was executive director of Lehigh Community Services. She was very kind and helpful whenever I talked to her. When you work in social services you have to have that special something to deal with all kinds of people. She has that.

The Lee County Commissioners have made a wise choice.
