FGCU associate athletic director hired by St. Anselm
Jo-Ann Nester, who served as Florida Gulf Coast University’s interim athletic director last year and has served as the associate athletic director for academics and compliance for the past four years, has resigned to become the new athletic director at St. Anselm College.
St. Anselm is a Catholic school with an enrollment of 2,000 located in Man-chester, N.H. It has a Division II program with 20 sports competing in the Northeast-10 Conference. Nester applied for the position in mid-July. Her FGCU resignation is effective Oct. 2
“I’ve known about St. Anselm College and their fine athletic program and excellent academic reputation since I was at Dartmouth,” Nester said. “I am very happy to have this excellent opportunity to lead their athletic program and to become a part of the St. Anselm community. I am looking forward to the challenges and new experiences and also to complete my career as an athletic director at a highly selective, rigorous academic institution with a fine athletic tradition.”
Nester previously served as an AD at Saint Mary’s College in Notre Dame, Ind., and at the University of San Diego.
