The youthful North Fort Myers Red Knights volleyball team is going through a season of on-the-job training. Judging from Wednesday night’s 3-1 victory over the Mariner Tritons, the Knights are quick learners.

Miranda Ashby delivered 10 kills while Susie McKeever handed out 15 assists to go with 10 kills of her own and lead the Red Knights past the Tritons 27-25, 25-8, 17-25, 25-13.

North won the first two games, just as it did 24 hours earlier against Lemon Bay. Unlike Tuesday, however, the Knights didn’t allow the Tritons to mount a three-game comeback. The Tritons took Game 3, but the Red Knights put the game away by winning Game 4.

Jessica Wagner contributed seven kills and four blocks for the Red Knights.

Debra Swain led the Tritons with 13 kills while Cody Sawyer pitched in with eight kills and 17 digs.

North (5-9) visits Cape Coral and Mariner (3-6) visits Ida Baker on Tuesday night.
