Main Street at Heitman Street will close at approximately 5 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 3, until noon on Sunday, Oct. 4, while crews begin roadway restoration work in the Main/Heitman intersection as part of the City of Fort Myers Downtown Utility & Streetscape Improvements Project. During this time, there will be NO ACCESS to U.S. 41 or McGregor Boulevard via Heitman and Main streets.
To access U.S. 41 during the Main Street and Monroe Street closures, motorists may travel west on First Street/West First Street, left on Altamont Avenue through the traffic light on McGregor Boulevard to Victoria Street to U.S. 41 (Cleveland Avenue). A second alternate route to access U.S. 41 is south on Broadway, west on Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard, south on Monroe Street, west on Victoria Street to north/south U.S. 41.
