Bistro reopens doors in Cape

By Staff | Oct 8, 2009

A unique jazz bistro in downtown Cape Coral reopened its doors Tuesday, starting its second year in business, after being closed during September.
Owners Valerie and Wayne Elam opened Brew Babies Garden Bistro last year to provide a hip, relaxing atmosphere for individuals to enjoy while having the opportunity to eat fresh homemade meals and listen to live jazz music.
Valerie Elam said the bistro is open from 8 a.m.-10 p.m. serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. The courtyard features melodic contemporary live jazz music every night.
The breakfast menu consists of items like homemade muffins, scones, breakfast tacos and Mediterranean omelets, she said. A variety of unique salads are freshly prepared for lunch.
Other items on the menu include different paninis and wraps, lamb chops, fresh fish and chicken.
Elam said everything on the menu is fresh and healthy due to the fresh ingredients grown or caught in Southwest Florida.
Brew Babies Garden Bistro also has large red velvet overstuffed sofas and tiger printed chairs for individuals to relax and enjoy each other’s company.
The bistro has free wine tastings every Wednesday with samples from all over the world. She said they always have some type of buffet and homemade deserts with the wine tasting.
The bistro will host a fund-raiser Oct. 22 to help raise money for the Southwest Florida 2009 Symphony Season before it kicks off. Dancing Under the Stars will feature a “wonderful dinner for $50 per person for a five-course meal,” Elam said.
The event will have raffle tickets, auctions, a fortune teller and contemporary jazz music.
“It’s going to be a really fun night,” she said.
Tickets can be purchased by calling the bistro at 542-2224 or stopping by.
Brew Babies Garden Bistro is located at 1520 Lafayette St., behind the Quality Inn. For information, call 542-2224 or visit: www.mybrewbabies.com.
