$132,000 worth of Marijuana seized in Lehigh bust
The Lee County Sheriffs Office Narcotics Unit dismantled what investigators called today an elaborate marijuana cultivation operation located at 2702 5th Street SW in Lehigh Acres on Oct. 21. Information on the residence was obtained while working a recent joint investigation with members of the Collier County Highway Interdiction Unit, said Tony Schall, a spokesman with the Sheriff’s Office.
Upon gaining consent to enter the residence, he said an elaborate three-room cultivation operation was discovered including multiple light/water systems, interior air conditioning units and intricate power diversion. Some 33 plants were seized with a total weight of 142.2 pounds, and a street value of $132,000, Schall said. The home’s occupant and caretaker, identified as Yadian R. Gonzalez, 24, was charged with marijuana trafficking, marijuana producing, possession of cultivation equipment and possess/own/rent a structure for marijuana producing.
