A memorial Service will be held 1:30 p.m. Thursday October 29, 2009 at the Trinity Baptist Church, Lehigh Acres, for Thomas Robert Edwards, Sr., 77, of Lehigh Acres, who died on Monday October 26, 2009.

He was a native of Rock Rift, N.Y., and a retired rodbuster with the Ironworkers Local 60. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army having served in Korea and received U.N. Service Medal, National Defense Medal, Combat Infantryman’s Badge, Korean Service Medal with one Bronze Star.

He was pre-deceased by his parents Leslie and Glendora Edwards, and a granddaughter Maryellen Michelle McIntosh.

Survivors include his wife of 49 years Betty; children, Kelly ( Frank) McIntosh, Debbie (Chris) Crawford, Sandie ( Fred) Shriber, Tom (Marie) Edwards, Jr., Bob ( Colleen) Edwards; grandchildren, Ellie and Frankie McIntosh, Michelle Button, Christina and Scotty Fisher, Tiffany Swan, Erica Lindenmayer, Cora Pratt, Kyle Edwards; sux great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters Bud (Janice) Edwards, Bea (Dale) Baker, Elwyn (Kathy) Edwards.

A special thanks to Hope Hospice of Lehigh Acres and Dr. Brian Kim and Staff. He was loved and respected by all who knew him, the family said.
