Women’s Club to hold holiday dinner dance
The General Women’s Club of Lehigh Acres will host a Holiday Dinner Dance on Friday, December 4, from 6 to 10 p.m. at the Colonial Country Club, Independence Way, Fort Myers, just outside of Lehigh off of Colonial Blvd. For ticket information, call Maralyn Waline at 239-368-4222.
Fountain Crest holds Dec. 5 Treasure Sale
Fountain Crest at 1230 Taylor Lane Ext., in Lehigh is holding a Tidbits and Treasure Sale on December 5 from 8 to 11 a.m.
There will be an assortment of items for sale including books, clothes, baked goods and “knick knacks.”
Fountain Crest is a complex composed of apartments for seniors. Also inside is a dining room, a movie theater and other facilities.
Regular meeting of Women’s Club is Dec. 11
The General Women’s Club of Lehigh Acres will hold its monthly meeting on Friday, December 11. Luncheon will be held at noon with the business meeting starting at 1 p.m. The Senior Center Theater Group will perform.
Knights of Columbus dinner, dance is Dec. 12
The Ladies Auxiliary of St. Raphael’s Knights of Columbus will hold its annual Christmas Dinner and Dance at Majestic Golf Club on Dec. 12. The cocktail hour will begin at 6 p.m. and dinner will be buffet style and will start at 7 p.m. Music will be provided by David Dean. Baskets will be raffled off. Canada Club resumes meetings
Shaureen Ratza, the second vice president of the Canada Club wants to remind others coming to Lehigh from Canada for the season that the Canada Club meets the first Sunday of the month from December to March at 5 p.m. at St. Anselms Church Hall at 6th St. and Joel Blvd. in Lehigh Acres for a pot luck supper, followed by a meeting. Fall bazaar is Saturday at Congregational Church
The First Community Congregational United Church of Christ will hold their second annual Christmas Bazaar and Bake Sale on Saturday, Dec. 5 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the church building.
Features this year will include a visit from Santa from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Photos will be taken.
Children will enjoy free homemade cookies and beverages.
There is also a special Santa Workshop for the children to buy gifts for their family members. Prices of items are from 25 cents to $3 and that includes free gift wrapping.
For adults, there will be reasonably priced jewelry, floral, sofa pillows, crafts, baked goodies, including homemade candies and noodles, and homemade jams and jellies. Also at the bazaar will be a king sized silk comforter and shams to be raffled at 1 p.m.
Tickets are a dollar each of six for $5. For more information, contact the church at 369-1615. The location of the church is 200 Leeland Heights Blvd. Proceeds will support the outreach ministry and the church, said Maude Coleman, chairman of the bazaar.
Free benefit event to aid domestic shelter
The first annual Holiday Benefit Expo – supporting Lee County Domestic Violence Shelter ACT (Abuse Counseling and Treatment) is being hosted to help raise funds for Lee County’s local domestic violence shelter.Come do some holiday shopping and pampering for a good cause, promoters say.
It will be held on Saturday December 5 at the Holiday Inn Estero, 9931 Interstate Commerce Drive, Fort Myers. Doors open at 9 a.m. and the event will continue to 3 p.m. It is free to the public.
There will be more than 20 vendors to meet your shopping needs, promoters said. Enjoy hors d’oeuvres, refreshment and raffles, free services such as massages and eyebrow waxing.
