The Spacebox Storage – Damien Garcia Golf Benefit held on Sat, Oct 24, at Royal Tee Golf Club for critically injured Cape Coral police officer Damien Garcia raised $5,700.
Officer Garcia was involved in a devastating motorcycle accident on June 2 while on duty and air-lifted to Miami, where he is currently rehabilitating.
“It was a total community effort, and I wish to personally thank the golfers, sponsors, media, private citizens, volunteers, and friends who assisted in making this a successful benefit, especially during tough financial times,” said golf benefit organizer Steve Shortino.
The proceeds will go directly towards Officer Garcia’s medical/ aftercare expenses.
