Former nurse practitioner accused of writing bogus prescriptions

By Staff | Nov 18, 2009

A former nurse practitioner is accused to trying to forge his way to new heights in bodybuilding, according to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office. Instead, he’s under arrest and being charged with using bogus prescriptions to score testosterone and other drugs.

Jonathan Eschedor, 31, of 12501 Allendale Circle, Fort Myers, faces charges including obtaining a controlled substance by forgery and possessing blank prescriptions in a scheme that investigators say continued for more than a year.

The investigation by the Lee County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division’s PILS Unit reveals Eschedor stole blank prescriptions from his former employer, Southwest Florida Urologic Associates, and forged the signature of one of its doctors.

Eschedor was then able to obtain Testosterone Cypionate, a schedule three controlled substance, and an antibiotic called Levaquin. The investigation shows Eschedor obtained a total of 28 prescriptions through refills. Eschedor also had more than 50 blank prescriptions in his possession when he was arrested, according to Tony Schall, a spokesman with the Sherif’s Office.
