The first annual putt-putt golf tournament which took place on Saturday, October 31, was a huge success. It was Halloween and some came in costume as did Mickey and Minnie Mouse to watch the tourney.
“We couldn’t have done it without the tremendous support of the Lehigh community. A special thank to Robert Bowers Accounting for being the tournament sponsor and the many other businesses and individuals who sponsored each hole,” said Tom Pfuner, chairman of the event.
Additional winners were 2nd place adult costume – Don and Merrilyn Penegor; 3rd place adult costume – Zena Baranowski; 2nd place children’s costume – Selina Pfuner and 3rd place children’s costume Stephanie Everhart.
The group taking second place in golf were Phil and LaVon Koenig and Don and Merrilyn Penegor. The 3rd place in golf went to Tom Nelson, Hank Hendel, Barry Mjoll and Mark Brown.
Damon Shelor with the Kiwanis Club was not able to play because of the Clean Up Lehigh Project, said Jim Kreger, a spokesman with the event. He joked that Shelor might have placed. “Maybe next time,” Kreger said.
