Oscar A. Sarracino
A memorial service will be held Saturday, Dec. 12, 2009 at 11 a.m. at Gateway Trinity Lutheran Church, 11381 Gateway Blvd., Fort Myers, for Oscar Arturo Sarracino, 80, of Lehigh Acres, who died Thursday, Nov. 26, 2009. He was the husband of Maria Sarracino.
After a career as a biomedical technician for the Alexandria Hospital in Virginia, he retired in 1996. He had served with the Florida National Guard.
Born in Havana, Cuba and emigrated with his family to the U.S. in the 1950s and eventually became a naturalized U.S. citizen.
In addition to his wife of 61 years, Maria, he is survived by two daughters Diana Jenkins of Fort Myers and Laura Taylor of Wynantskill, N.Y., one son, Raymond of Fort Myers, granddaughter Alisha Taylor and grandsons Peter and Joseph Sarracino and Will Jenkins, sisters Raquel O’Farrill of Miramar and Maria Echemendia of Boynton Beach. He was preceded in death by his son Joseph Sarracino.
