November housing permits in county are down

During November, Lee County Community Development issued permits for 19 single-family homes valued at $7.5 million to be built in unincorporated Lee County. In comparison, there were 23 permits for single-family homes issued in October and 14 issued in November 2008, according to a report from Lee County Commnity Development.

There were 10 multi-family units permitted in unincorporated Lee County during November, compared to two the previous month and 6 in November 2008.

Permits were issued for one new commercial building valued at $1.2 million in unincorporated Lee County, compared to $2.3 million in October. In November 2008, newly permitted commercial buildings were also valued at $1.2 million.

Lee County Community Development oversees planning, zoning, development, and building services, environmental review, building inspection and code enforcement for the unincorporated areas of the county.
